Slab Siding or First Cuts Wood Art

The first piece of wood cut from the side of the log is called first cuts or slabs. They usually come in two sizes 4" or 6" wide in lengths of 8' or longer. The edges are sawn straight and parallel with the backside flat. They vary in both thickness and species of wood.
